              Diagnostic
  After birth, Fabio was diagnosed with the following:  
 
Premature birth in the 27th week of pregnancy  
Hypotrophy (below-average growth of the body), birth weight 480g  
Twin No. I (in the birth sequence)  
Infant respiratory distress syndrome (IRDS) grade IV  
Neonatal jaundice (Hyperbilirubinemia) (an excess of bilirubin [breakdown product of the red blood cell component hemoglobin] in the blood of the newborn)  
Severe deformity of the lungs and bronchial system  
Anemia of prematurity (AOP) (low red-blood-cell volume, due to the premature birth)  
Cor pulmonale (increased pressure on the right ventricle of the heart, due to increased pressure of pulmonary circulation)  
3rd-stage bilateral retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) (an eye disease which affects prematurely born babies)  condition following bilateral laser coagulation ("welding" using a laser)  
Bilateral hernia  condition following the bilateral surgical repair thereof 
Hypospadias (misplacement of the urinary opening)  
Atrial septal defect (ASD) type II, due to pulmonary hypertension (successfully sealed in May 2008)  
 
 
After the event, the following diagnoses were made:  
 
Cerebral palsy  
Neurogenic dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)  
Overall retardation  
Overall developmental delay, with epilepsy  
Status post-rhabdomyolysis  
Glutaric aciduria type II (was refuted at the end of 2008)  
Central muscle tonus disorder
